Bamboo vs Tencel

Bamboo vs Tencel

Bamboo comes from bamboo plants. Most “bamboo sheets” you see are actually bamboo rayon or viscose, which means the bamboo is processed with chemicals. There is a more natural, mechanically processed version—similar to linen—but it’s very rare and usually expensive. So, in most cases, you’re getting bamboo viscose, not raw bamboo fiber.

Tencel™ (Lyocell)
Made from eucalyptus or other wood pulp. Tencel™ is a brand name from Lenzing, and they’re known for doing everything in a closed-loop system, meaning they recycle almost all the solvents. It’s one of the eco-friendlier fabrics out there.
